In 1965 Carlo and Angelica were a young couple with a big dream - to build a small hotel at the foot of the Dolomites, and fortunately their dream was to come true. The following year, after its founder Carlo Senoner won the world ski championships in Portillo in Chile, it was given the name Portillo.
The dream is still going on because in the last 50 years Carlo and Angelica have never stopped, and with the help of their children have always strived to please their customers with dedication, care and commitment.
The grandiose facility in wood and stone which now welcomes visitors to Selva was fully renovated in 8 months of intense work in 2013. The stunning frame in trunks of fir tree is enhanced when matched with murogeopietra. The random arrangement and white shades of the stone match the spectacular panorama of the Dolomites splendidly.
