The firm was established in 1994 by Jean-Daniel Berset, who graduated with a degree in civil engineering from École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL), and obtained a Master’s in Civil Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston (USA). Following considerable development and progress in his chosen area, in 2000 the business became a limited company called Jean-Daniel Berset Ingénieurs-Conseils SA. The company currently has around twenty collaborators. It is listed on the profession’s official register and is a member of Société des Ingénieurs et Architectes (SIA), in the group specialising in conservation, in addition to Union Patronale des Ingénieurs et Architectes Vaudois (UPIAV). In 2006 a completely independent branch was set up in Villars-sur-Ollon, to serve clients in the eastern region of the Canton of Vaud.
